Roadside Cleanup

Carson residents share lunch at the store after a roadside cleanup session.

2019 Trash Pick-Up on Hwy 567 Day was on Wednesday, May 8, 8:30am-noon. Check back for the next roadside cleanup event.

Participants meet at the store and organize into small groups to walk along different sections of Hwy 567 picking up the trash. CCA organizes this event and pizza is provided at noon for all those who participate in keeping Carson beautiful!

State Hwy 567 has become quite a busy road and accumulation of trash along the verges becomes unsightly over time. Since this is a main thoroughfare for most Carson residents, it is in the interest of the community to help remove the trash. In April 2018, Elisabeth Maier (then treasurer of the Carson Community Association) took the lead in organizing a roadside clean-up along the highway and plans to organize regular cleanups with other interested Carson residents. South Carson Road also has its own permanent system of trash clean-up, each section being the responsibility of a community member.

Read more about the 2018 cleanup and check the calendar for dates of future cleanups.

Note: Some Carson residents voluntarily undertake to clean up stretches of road near their properties. We encourage all Carsonites to perform this community service to help keep Carson beautiful.
