Roadside Cleanup

Carson residents share lunch at the store after a roadside cleanup session.

From time to time, CCA organizes a roadside cleanup along Hwy 567. Participants meet at the Carson Cafe & Grocery Store and organize into small groups to walk along different sections of Hwy 567 picking up the trash. CCA works with the cafe to provide pizza at noon for all those who participate in keeping Carson beautiful.

State Hwy 567 has become quite a busy road and accumulation of trash along the verges becomes unsightly over time. Since this is a main thoroughfare for most Carson residents, it is in the interest of the community to help remove the trash.

In April 2018, Elisabeth Maier (then treasurer of the Carson Community Association) took the lead in organizing a roadside clean-up along the highway. The new CCA board elected in 2021 would like to organize regular cleanups, perhaps in conjunction with other groups, and with interested Carson residents.

Some Carson residents voluntarily undertake to clean up stretches of road near their properties, particularly along S Carson Rd. We encourage all Carsonites to perform this community service to help keep Carson beautiful. However, remember to stop and pick up trash that you see on the roadside only when and where you can safely stop to do so.

Check the calendar for dates of future cleanups.
