Carson residents do not get mail delivery to their homes. Instead they can get a post office box free of charge if they are able to provide a valid ID and proof of residence to show that they are full-time residents. Acceptable documents include a valid New Mexico driver’s license and utility bills that show the actual street address in Carson. Supporting documents need to be recent (within the last six months) and residents need to re-submit the documents annually in order to retain their free post office box.
For mail to be delivered to your post office box in Carson, the address must include the PO Box number, otherwise the post office can reject it. If you are uncertain whether a package is arriving by USPS or another courier service such as FedEx or UPS, include both your street address and PO Box number. It’s also helps to add the four-digit code with your PO Box number to your zip code eg if your PO Box number is 55, your zip code would be 87517-0055.
